Caritas Bo supported the ministry of Social Welfare Gender and Children’s Affairs to observe the day of the African Child on the 16th of June, 2018 at the Bo district Council hall, Sewa Road, Bo. The theme of this year’s DAC is “Leave No Child Behind for African Development” which was localized in Sierra Leonean context as “ No Pikin Nor For Lef Bein For Salone E Betteh” The ceremony was graced by a high profile delegation including the Deputy Minister of Social Welfare, the Chairman, District council, Representative from the Legal Aid Board, His Lordship Bo Mayor and several Child protection actors including Plan International, Youth and Child Advocacy Network (YACAN), Child Right Coalition, National Children’s Commission, Chairmen Parliamentary Oversight Committees on Children’s Affairs etc.
